So happy to share this Sausalito engagement photoshoot! This was the second engagement photoshoot I ever did back when I first moved to the Bay Area of California. It was an area I wasn’t familiar with but enjoyed exploring.
Kim and Archie enjoyed sharing with me their love for this area where they’d been many times. They were drawn to the waterfront area and the beautiful fountain. Such a stunning posh little town!

A bit about this engaged couple
Kim got in touch with me early this year about a casual, relaxed engagement shoot evoking vibes of Venice Beach from the couple’s native Southern California or a Tahoe vibe.
The couple will be getting married in Hawaii – how fun!
We threw around a few locations. In the end, Sausalito engagement photos seemed like the best idea!
We waited a few months until the weather looked more likely to give us that sun-drenched look. It turned out to be a drizzly day in Sausalito but you wouldn’t know from the photos!
The actual shoot had a way sophisticated air, helped in part by Kim and Archie’s gorgeous outfits. Kim wore a long-sleeved, short off-white lace dress. Archie was in a blazer, chinos and pale blue shirt. Timeless!
Downtown Sausalito shoot locations
We started off with a few shots around the downtown Sausalito area.
They wanted to include the famous fountain at Viña del Mar park, the Sausalito Waterfront and some staircase and street shots. All super pretty spots and due to the weather there weren’t many people around.
Barrel House Tavern photos
After a little while, we persuaded management at The Barrel House Tavern to allow us to shoot on the terrace there. They opened up the closed area for us! What a dream!
It’s shaped like a giant barrel, which is enticement enough to go check it out. More than that, it also affords the most beautiful views of the San Francisco skyline and the Marin hills.
The fog added to the ethereal atmosphere! Great gorgeous and glam spot – perfect for these intimate moments. The electricity between Kim & Archie is palpable!
Sausalito has my heart!
I love this shoot because it is in part glamorous and goofy, sophisticated and silly! It totally encapsulates Kim & Archie’s story and tells the story of how wrapped up in each other they are.
I love the goofing-off images as much as the more posed and serious shots. Your engagement shoot tells YOUR unique story.
