Thinking of getting married at Vine Hill House? You’ve made a fabulous choice – you can stop searching for a Sonoma wedding venue!
When I was there for Rachelle & Simon’s wedding in late fall 2022, absolutely everyone from the vendor team (plus many guests) commented on how impressive this venue is. Everywhere you look, it is picture-perfect.

About Vine Hill House
Vine Hill House boasts scenic views overlooking hundreds of acres of vineyards and orchards. The estate also has gorgeous features within the property such as a grove of Douglas firs, redwoods, oaks and mature planting with colorful flowers and lawns.
One of these lawns is the setting for an unforgettable al fresco dining experience with the splendor of nature as your backdrop.
From the moment you enter Vine Hill House through a quaint and picturesque gate (which is also great for first looks and ceremony entrances), you feel such peace.
The property is the event space of O’Connell Vineyards, famous for its world-class Pinot Noir and Chardonnay varieties. It’s been a family-run establishment for almost 100 years, so the amount of love and care that the event staff put into everything they do is just incredible. (Especially Dan, the owner).
Can we talk about these views? They stretch from Mount St. Helena to the north and the coastal mountain range to the south.
Despite the expansive size of the vineyards and orchards, it’s only 7 miles from Santa Rosa and the U.S. 101. It’s within easy reach for Bay Area couples like Rachelle and Simon who live in San Francisco and had their guests bussed in.
But even more than the material aspects of the place, there is an undeniably romantic, intimate feel to Vine Hill House. It has to be experienced! I hope these photos will begin to do justice to this beautiful Sonoma wine country venue.
What’s included in your Vine Hill House booking
Important to note is that Vine Hill House closes for the winter months. It’s open for wedding bookings between April 1 and November 30 only.
The venue has become very sought after due to its charming features, convenient yet secluded location and affordable price tag, so book early to avoid disappointment!
When you book with Vine Hill House, you’ll have an amazing team of event specialists led by Dan to help you get the most out of your experience (including on-site day-of management).
The rental time is up to 6 hours, though this will depend on your event type and your agreement with the venue.
One of the key decor features of the venue is the stylish on-brand French oak wine barrels, which you’ll see turn up in a lot of the photos of the space! Barrels flank the ceremony space, as well as acting as decor and cocktail tables.
The venue also provides so much, which will save on rentals (and a lot of headaches!) This includes but is not limited to:
- 5’ round tables for dining
- Chairs
- Various display tables
- Lighting
- Umbrellas
- Outdoor kitchen for catering
- Dance floor
- Patio heaters
Couples can use the property for their ceremony rehearsal as well as the guest house which is perfect for getting ready. The guest house is accessible to the wedding party during wedding preparations, it’s not suitable as an event space.
Please note: it’s best to chat directly with the Vine Hill House team who will guide you on what would work best for your wedding.
