This San Francisco couple Midori & Pablo are so in love and looking forward to their wedding next March. If this dreamy sunset engagement shoot is anything to go by, they are going to have the most beautiful day!
Midori contacted me all the way back in January, three months ago. I was new to the US and getting the word out on my photography services anywhere I could. She found my profile randomly on MeetUp and immediately got in touch (I know, random!)
This was I think the first photoshoot I ever did in the States! It was about a month after I moved and I was so new to photography!

About this engaged couple
Midori and Pablo are a cute, happy and self-assured couple that complement each other.
Midori was definitely the planner behind the shoot, but on the day Pablo really got into it.
He’s more the goofy one and that definitely shone through and made his love smile. Even the ‘outtakes’ really shows the personality of the couple. We were soon in a good flow and even sang the Power Rangers them tune together.
So the perfect blend of goofiness and some formal elegance.
Midori wore two gorgeous dresses that she splurged on especially for the shoot. Pablo wore a dapper can’t-go-wrong black suit with white shirt combo. They both looked so good!
I think there is something timeless about this unique area of our coastline. What do you think?
A great idea for an engagement location
From the moment we first spoke I knew Midori had a special kind of vision for her shoot.
I loved the locations and ideas she described. She wanted an engagement shoot that was elegant and refined with more of a formal feel.
We had a phone call to brainstorm some ideas! Midori has has a killer creative vision which I was super inspired by. A true creative at heart with a ton of artistic soul.
Fast forward another month to this sun-drenched celebration of their engagement in Lands End, San Francisco. If you’re planning an outfit change like this couple, it’s super easy to change outfits as there’s a restroom at the top of the stairs.
Midori had her heart set on the backlit, golden hour feel with that serene San Francisco light. We lucked out – no Karl the fog for our shoot!
Why Land’s End is such a good San Francisco photoshoot location
As you can see in these images, the light for one thing is spectacular, so soft and flattering and that is something that never goes out of style.
The variety of the different kinds of landscape and terrain is also of particular appeal! There’s usually quite a lot going on here, but it is possible to carve out a little space and time just for you!
With or without fog it’s a beautiful spot which is popular for good reason! I love the beaches of SF so much!
With a little patience and respect everyone enjoys these beautiful surroundings.
