Looking for a unique East Bay location for your wedding or engagement shoot? If you’re an Oakland local, there is a chance you may not have heard of this hidden gem!

Sometimes off the beaten path is just fine. I find myself in weird and wonderful places often enough. One of these places is Port View Park in Oakland, a real favorite shoot location for your love shoot or engagement.

It’s something of an undiscovered gem. Like, there’s never anyone there except the fishermen!

I love adventuring with couples that are open to my suggestions for couples/engagement photography locations that are more unique.

A couples shoot or ‘love shoot’ is an opportunity for experimenting with different looks, styles and trying out adventurous locations.

Too often, a couple only ever has professional photography on their wedding day. Too bad, as many feel the pressures of the day, or the time for portraits is often cut short.

Whatever the reason, a couples shoot or ‘love shoot’ is a great idea! We can make images that honor who you are.

Plus, we’ll have a lot more time for any nerves settle so the real you shines through.

And, no one’s waiting for you to get back to the party.

While Port View Park is a favorite location of mine for Oakland couple’s photography, there a ton more spots I can suggest around the Bay Area.

About this couple

Paris and Lovell are an Oakland-based couple. They’ve lived far and wide across the US due to serving in the Navy. In fact, they met while on active duty.

After knowing each other just a few months, they got married! The location was small-town rural Washington. The wedding took place while they were still serving.

That was three years ago and you can see how happy they are!

Lovell is in school for fashion business management & product design. Amazingly, he makes his own clothes, including the shirts he wore for this session.

These two have lived a lot! Previous, Lovell ran a computer business in LA. Paris has worked in film and is in media school now studying directing.

Together they run a vanlife YouTube channel. Their ultimate goal is to move to the Bahamas in a couple of years! This hard-working, hard-hustling couple was a joy to get to know.

These two are so massively into each other. They canoodle like a pair of teenagers left alone for the first time!

I love to make my couples feel comfortable throughout what is a very intimate (and odd!) undertaking. Of course, I encourage them and help them relax.

Whether newly engaged, tying the knot or celebrating wedding anniversaries, I always have time for my couples’ love stories.

I’m genuinely fascinated by love and I believe there is no typical love story, no typical couple.
