Presidio Yacht Club at Travis Marina is SUCH a stunning, unique wedding venue under the Golden Gate Bridge nestled in Fort Baker, Sausalito CA. It has even been described as a hidden gem (though not for long as demand is apparently high!)
It’s an institution for the people so prices are kept affordable, and the atmosphere familiar and relaxed. It honestly felt like such an honor to even be able to host a wedding here with so much history and such breathtaking views.
So let’s get into more about this venue and how my couple, Anna & Chuck used it for their wedding.

About Travis Marina as a wedding venue
The venue is multi-use, service-driven operation that is welcoming for civilians, veterans, active duty and retired military. It’s located on the northern edge of Horseshoe Bay, just north of the Golden Gate Bridge.
It’s super close to San Francisco but with a completely different feel. To give it a comparison, it does feel a little like being in the Presidio with its windy roads, pristine lawns and military batteries.
The Travis Marina itself was originally built to support mine-laying operations and anti-submarine warfare during World War 2. Since then, it has been opened up to civilian use. It’s part of Travis Air Force Base and shares connections with the Presidio Yacht Club.
The wedding day
This is more than history for my couple Anna & Chuck, this place is part of their story! These proud Sausalito locals got engaged here on the little jetty and come here often.
Anna definitely had a clear wedding vision when it came to utilizing and decorating the various spaces. An expert planning team, master florist and sumptuous rental pieces were key to bringing the vision to life.
I started my day at Cavallo Point Lodge where Anna was getting ready with the ladies (+ 2 dogs). It’s possible to walk from Cavallo Point to Presidio Yacht Club at Travis Marina (or to save time, a ~2 minute drive). My second photographer photographed Chuck and the groomsmen’s arrival via sailboat. They got wedding-ready on site.
We had the first look inside the banquet hall, then got most of the group photos done pre-ceremony. During cocktail hour we captured the remaining groupings plus the jaw-dropping reception setup, and romantics right as we hit blue hour.
The night rounded off with a delicious meal & speeches followed by drinks & dancing with the band upstairs in the bar area.
This wedding was one for the books! It had everything – intense emotion, exquisite florals, fabulous guests, unbelievable views and setups to die for! I’ll share more about the individual spaces and my photographs of this event, so that you can picture your wedding there.
Spaces within Travis Marina
The deck
This is the best place for ceremonies! Though a little snug for larger parties (maybe not every guest would have a seat), it’s so romantic to get married in the shadow of the Golden Gate Bridge. It’s rustic with more than a touch of windswept elegance.
My couple also used this area for their cocktail hour.
The boathouse
The rustic boathouse with shabby-chic turquoise walls is perfect for large gatherings. There’s no shortage of space for your formal dining event while retaining a cozy, intimate atmosphere.
It’s so versatile that it would work well for wedding ceremonies, lounging area and concerts.
The bar
The bar (also known as ‘Mike’s Place’) is directly upstairs from the banquet hall and has a beautiful view. It’s a clubhouse lodge with wood interior and old-world, pub-style seating. The walls are adorned with military and nautical-inspired decor. There’s also a full bar.
This area was where the boys to chilled pre-ceremony, where the marriage license was signed and most importantly this is where the dancefloor is. It worked perfectly for Anna & Chuck’s live band.
The banquet hall
The banquet hall is on the first floor and overlooks the Golden Gate Bridge and the ceremony area. It boasts 3 large windows and 2 glass french doors – it’s connected to an industrial kitchen.
The weather was gorgeous for Anna & Chuck’s September wedding, so this space was mostly an overflow/chill-out area during cocktail hour, decked out with the most stunning decor. It was also where the dessert bar was set up.
Here are the photos from Anna & Chuck’s beautiful day by Horseshoe Bay!
