There is so much to love about Hacienda de las Flores, a Spanish-style mansion nestled in deepest Moraga, a small town in the East Bay.
It’s an open-air, all-weather location surrounded by lush grounds, historic columns, manicured lawns and sprawling ivy.
Once a sprawling country club, since early 2022 it is run by Wedgewood Weddings in a recent 10-year lease deal. Hacienda de las Flores offers an all-inclusive approach to wedding planning with its on-site coordinators. There are currently 4 packages to choose from. It’s a truly all-in-one Bay Area wedding venue.
Also we’re big fans of Wedgewood Weddings for their affordability, how everything is done-for-you (and there are fewer outside suppliers to deal with), and how smoothly everything runs. You do need to be aware of extra fees when using them (as every add-on is an extra line item on the bill), but that’s the only downside I can think of, though it makes sense when you look at how affordable the base package is. Check out some other venues also run by Wedgewood:

I was lucky enough to photograph B & R’s June 2022 wedding here. The couple had waited a long time for this day to arrive as they were 2020 reschedules. In this article, I’ll share photos from that wedding along with helpful info if you’re looking at this venue for your wedding.

About Hacienda de las Flores for weddings
This enchanting Spanish-style estate is one of my favorites in the East Bay, boasting so many gorgeous features! To name but a few:
- An intimate, mature garden setting with blue atlas cedar trees, pines, willows, palms, and flowers filling the upper lawn
- Expansive views of the valley
- Romantic, spacious nine-acre estate perfect for open-air events
- Historic elegance, charm and character throughout its many areas – the town-owned building is over 100 years old.
- It’s truly tranquil and secluded yet within an hour’s reach of downtown San Francisco
The Hacienda de las Flores is available for wedding rentals each year from April through November. Bookings secure the entire event space for the duration of your rental.

About the ceremony area of Hacienda de las Flores
This lower area consists of a large, fully enclosed circular patio lawn surrounded by ivy-clad Corinthian columns that give an old-world charm. Larger ceremonies of up to 200 take place in front of the pavilion, while smaller ones can take place in front of the iron gate.
The area is used for cocktail hour and lawn games too.
About the reception area of Hacienda de las Flores
Ascend the flagstone stairs and wrought-iron gates and there’s a short walk to the upper lawn that hosts the reception space.
The centerpiece of the 2,700 sq ft outdoor reception area is the fountain. Circled with a flowerbed, it’s surrounded by a spacious patio for dining and socializing at the end of the night. Known as the manor patio,
About the indoor area of Hacienda de las Flores
The VIP indoor area features beamed ceilings, hardwood floors and period details such as a cozy fireplace. You and your guests will head inside at the end of your wedding to enjoy the indoor dance floor.
There’s a convenient and private dressing suite upstairs in the Flower Mansion that photographs beautifully. There’s also a more basic room for guys to get ready.
One of my absolute favorite aspects of this sprawling estate is that there are countless photo opportunities everywhere you look. The site combines two architectural styles: the original Spanish-style home and the spectacular neo-classical style with period ironwork.
This blending of styles is seamless, yet also generates beautiful vignettes for photos, meaning less positioning you and your guests.
